Classifying Leaves...
We wanted to know more about the veins found in leaves...so I decided to get 3A to find out more about leaves and their characteristics on their own. They were asked to collect leaves from their neighbourhood and were given a chance to create a collage using all the leaves they brought to school.
As they worked in groups to put the leaves in specific groups, they started asking questions on their own about the similarities and differences among all the leaves. This allowed them to see how and why some leaves were placed together in one specific group. It also got them thinking about why some leaves are not green in colour. We then had a class discussion on their classification to summarize what they have discovered through their observations.

Our Swimming Lessons
The Swim Safer Programme has certainly been a success for 3A. Its amazing to see that almost all 3A children have become good swimmers in such a short span. All thanks to the coaches, teachers in-charge and Mrs Yong (Mathew Yong Mummy) for their wonderful support lent during all lessons.
My heart-felt thanks to Mrs Yong for volunteering her support for so many weeks admist her busy schedule as a home maker. Here are some shots for your viewing pleasure...
